New Assistant Manager

Former Maltby Main FC Joint Manager, Mark Askwith has joined Liam’s Team in the form of Assistant Manager. We know that Mark has excellent communication skills and is a very hard working person; additionally he brings 15 years of managing experience to the team, which is absolutely vital at this level of non-league.

Mark started managing at Sunday League with Three Horse Shoes where he earned 3 promotions. He also took Sunday League side Joker FC from 2nd to bottom (After 6 Games) to get promoted as runners up, they then progressed into Step 7 Football. The season after they finished 4th in the league and got to the final of the County Senior Cup. At Joker FC they won every trophy available including the very prestigious Hallamshire Sunday Cup.

After Successes with Joker FC, Mark was given a chance with a NCEL Premier Division Club, Maltby Main. Mark Askwith and Scott Mason was made joint managers. The two of them had a huge job on their shoulders after the club had had 4 seasons on the bounce just surviving from relegation. The season began with a tough start, but things stabilized and they ended up giving Maltby the best season they had had in 25 Years, finishing in a very respectable 7th place.

Mark and Scott furthermore took Maltby Main on their best FA Cup and FA Vase run in almost 15 years, generating £6,000 for the club. In the 2018 season they improved there earlier 7th place finish with a 5th place in the Premier Division, which marked the highest finish in the clubs history. Unfortunately, Mark had to resign at the end of the season due to work commitments, but now he is back and is ready to help Liam and the lad’s as much as he can.
